The Sherrod Foundation Inc. was founded on the idea of helping those in need. Ever since our organization was established, we have endeavored to provide help where needed.
Our team is made up entirely of volunteers. We advocate for those who need our help because we know a little help goes a long way.
That is why we are especially happy to find new volunteers who share our commitment to doing good in the world. Do you want to support us by helping with our mission? The volunteer now button will take you to the volunteer page for more information. Don't hesitate to volunteer. A helping hand is always greatly appreciated!

The first workshop was conducted in March of 2022. We will launch in-person workshops after the pandemic is over. Until then, we will offer online workshops to keep everyone safe. Due to the pandemic, our events calendar is subject to change based on guidance from medical experts.
Everyone is welcome to register and attend our workshops. We have workshops designed for all members of the community. You are encouraged to invite your family, friends, and neighbors to attend with you. Just make sure each one registers separately as we confirm attendance on a first-come, first-served basis.
Keep in mind that teenagers under 18 should have an adult with them for safety. We do not want toddlers and small children in the workshop as this may be disruptive to learning.
We also have several online workshops so anyone in the US may attend.
Nothing. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. All workshops by the Sherrod Foundation Inc are free to the public.
The Sherrod Foundation Inc work hard to keep our overhead costs very low. We are a 100% non-paid charity. None of our officers, staff or volunteers are paid, so your donation goes toward implementing our programs. We do not have offices or expensive equipment to pay for monthly.
We are doing live workshops on the south side of Atlanta GA. This includes Clayton and Henry counties. Our online workshops are open to anyone in the US.
Most workshops start at 9:30 am and last for 1.5 hours. A couple of workshops will last 2 hours.
The Helping Kids Succeed workshops could start in the morning or afternoon, depending on school preferences. The specifics will be communicated by the partnering school.
Yes. The Community Education Series are done online. We also conduct "Preventing Financial Scams & Identity Theft" and "The Dangers of Vaping" online. We may offer other workshops online depending on the pandemic and demand. If a workshop is scheduled for online delivery, the Events page will list the location as online instead of an address.
Once you register for an online workshop, you will get an email with the details and the webinar link. The link will only be available if you register.
We use PayPal, so you can use most credit and debit cards. You can also use your PayPal account for direct payment for donations. Keep in mind that all workshops and food are free of charge.

The Elite Donor Club is designed to give recognition to those donating a higher amount to help fund our programs. We certainly appreciate all our donors and are honored to receive any amount. There are no tangible returns for being in the Elite Donor Club as the IRS does not allow donations for gifts or personal gain. We will recognize our Elite Donors, with their permission, on our website, and at celebration events.
We are serious about personal privacy. We never sell or share your email with third parties unless it is for use in a program we use to do business. For example, we enter your email address in our email program to send you the quarterly magazine, blog posts, or share updates on the Sherrod Foundation. We use third parties like Microsoft or Constant Contact to do our email or marketing campaigns.
We never buy an email list and use opt-in forms on our website to get your permission before communicating with you by email. You certainly can opt out at any time.
We do plan to host an annual celebration and fundraiser starting in 2024. This will be a black-tie event in celebration of our past donors, volunteers, staff and supporters. All are welcomed to purchase tickets for this holiday fun event to be held in early December.
We have three main fundraising campaigns. First, our '100 for 100' is an all-year compaign where we desire to get 100 people donating $100. Given the critical work we do for health improvement and financial litercy, we hope you will consider being one of the 100 and donate today. You may donate on our webpage at www.sherrodfoundation.org/donations.
Second, our company sponsor campaign desire to get 3 companies to support or mission with a financial donation.
Third, we hope that a nonprofit foundation will donate to our cause in support of preventing type 2 diabetes and financial literacy. We may submit for a small grant for our diabetes prevention program.
Lastly, we hope to have lots of fun celebrating at our annual black-tie gala and fundraiser. We will post on our website when that launches so you may get your ticket and join us.
